Your entire semester.One intelligent notebook.

Import your course material, organise it into notebooks, write naturally, and study with AI that understands your work.

No credit card required.

A homework PDF imported into Notero and opened as a notebook with pages on iPad.

You already have the material.

  • Lecture slides
  • Homework
  • Summaries
  • Past exams

A PDF reader, a writing app, Drive, a chatbot you paste fragments into — none of them knows your course.

A chat window has no idea what was in lecture 7. Notero does.

Import

Bring it into Notero.

Import any PDF — a lecture, a worksheet, a past exam — and it opens as a notebook you can actually work on.

  • Every page arrives at its real size
  • A 300-page document opens instantly
  • Start writing the moment it lands

The structure

One course. One notebook. As many pages as you need.

Every course gets a notebook. Every topic gets a page. Lectures, homework, summaries and practice sit next to each other instead of scattering across eight apps.

  1. Course

Calculus II, Linear Algebra, Data Structures — each its own world.

  2. Notebook

Everything for that course in one place, not a pile of files.

  3. Pages

A page per topic, problem or summary. Add, duplicate, reorder.

Ink

Write like it’s paper.Study like it isn’t.

Pen, highlighter, eraser, lasso, text and images — on your own pages, and exactly the same on top of an imported PDF.

  • Annotate PDFs
  • Solve homework by hand
  • Add pages of your own
  • Pen
  • Highlighter
  • Eraser
  • Lasso
  • Text
  • Images
  • Apple Pencil

AI Tutor

Get unstuck withoutgiving away the answer.

Ask about what is on the page in front of you. Notero answers from your own material — a hint, the formula you need, and the next step.

  • Smart hints, not solutions
  • The relevant formula, in context
  • Step-by-step breakdowns when you stall

Flashcards

Your notes already containyour next study session.

Notero reads what you wrote, pulls the concepts out of it, and turns them into cards for active recall.

  • Your notes
  • AI finds the concepts
  • Flashcards

Practice

Don’t just reread.Practice.

Questions built from your own course material, with the explanation right after — and a running picture of what still needs work.

  • Questions from your material, not a generic bank
  • An explanation for every answer, not just a score
  • Weak topics surface on their own
Notero practice mode: a multiple-choice question, an explanation, progress and a list of weak topics.

Organisation

Your whole semester.Actually organised.

Every course carries its own notebook, documents, flashcards, practice and progress.

  • Notebook
  • Documents
  • Flashcards
  • Practice
  • Progress
The Notero courses screen with six courses, study progress, exam dates and document counts.

Document library

Every lecture. Every PDF.Every summary. One place.

Lectures, homework, summaries and exam prep — filed by course, searchable, and flagged when something still needs review.

  • Lectures
  • Homework
  • Summaries
  • Exam prep
The Notero document library with per-course folders, recent uploads and flagged files.

Progress

Know what to study next.

Notero does not only hold the work. It shows where you are weak, what is coming, and what deserves the next two hours.

  • Weak topics, ranked
  • Exams that are getting close
  • One clear recommendation for right now
The Notero dashboard: course progress, study time, weak topics, upcoming exams and a focus recommendation.

Focus mode

When it’s time to study, just study.

One topic, one timer, a short list of what to do. And what comes next.

Notero focus mode: a 25-minute timer, today’s task list and the next topic up.

How it connects

Six steps, then it just works

No configuration, no manual tagging, no copy-pasting into a chat window.

  1. 01

    Upload

A PDF, a lecture or a problem set — it comes in as it is.

  2. 02

    Organise

Course → notebook → pages, without filing anything by hand.

  3. 03

    Write

Annotate, solve and write naturally with Apple Pencil.

  4. 04

    Understand

Ask the AI and get hints and explanations from your material.

  5. 05

    Practice

Flashcards and quizzes built out of your own pages.

  6. 06

    Improve

Progress and weak topics that show you what comes next.

What’s inside

Everything that’s inside

The product is six layers. Anything marked “soon” is in development and not in this release — flagged so nothing surprises you.

The notebook

The base layer — and it’s free, with no quota.

  • Apple Pencil handwriting

Pressure-sensitive strokes, palm rejection, immediate response. Built on Skia, not a WebView.

  • Pen, highlighter, eraser, lasso

The same tools on every kind of page — imported PDF pages included.

  • Multi-page and templates

Add, duplicate, reorder and drag in the thumbnail rail. Grid, ruled or blank.

  • Undo without a limit

Every action is written to a local operation log. Importing a 90-page PDF undoes in one press.

  • Text boxes

Type next to your handwriting when typing is faster.

PDF

Your lecturer’s slides become pages in your notebook.

  • PDF import

Every page comes in at its real dimensions. A 300-page document opens instantly — pages rasterise only when you reach them.

  • Annotate on top

Your annotations are stored separately from the source file, so erasing them never damages it.

  • Export an annotated PDF

    Soon

Take the notebook back out as a single file with your markup baked in.

Understanding the material

What turns a pile of files into a course.

  • Automatic document detection

Lecture, problem set, summary, practice, past exam, lab, project or note — with no tagging from you.

  • Summary and key terms

A readable summary of the lecture, the list of definitions and theorems, and a topic breakdown.

  • Maths survives extraction

Extraction is built so expressions and brackets don’t get chopped in half — a failure mode earlier versions had.

  • Vector index of the course

    Soon

Each document is chunked. Retrieval is running on keywords right now — vector search is not currently active.

The tutor

Not a general chatbot — a tutor that read your material.

  • Answers from your material only

Every answer rests on passages from your own documents. With nothing relevant to draw on, Notero says so rather than inventing.

  • Cited back to the source

Each answer carries the document and the section it came from, so you can check it. Page-level references are on the way.

  • Integrity mode on problem sets

When a document is detected as homework or an exam, the tutor switches to hints and guidance and withholds the answer.

  • Choose the scope

Ask across the whole course, one folder, or a single document.

  • Saved conversations

    Soon

Return to an earlier thread and pick it up.

Practice and progress

From passive material to active study.

  • Practice generated from your material

    Soon

Questions built from your lectures, not from a generic bank.

  • Exam checklist

    Soon

A prioritised task list derived from the material, your exam date, and the mastery you reported.

  • Study plan

    Soon

Topics spread across the days you have left before the exam.

  • Weak-spot detection

    Soon

Mastery tracked per topic, plus “study this first”.

Organisation and sync

The things that simply have to work.

  • Course → folder → document

Deleting a folder never deletes material — documents fall back to the course root.

  • Write with no connection

Every stroke is written to disk before it is acknowledged on screen. Worst case you lose the stroke under the pen, not the session.

  • Sync across devices

    Soon

Start on iPad, carry on at the desk.

  • Hebrew, English, French

A genuine RTL interface, not a mirrored translation.

Questions that keep coming up

Is my material used to train models?

No. Your material is used only to answer you. It does not go into model training and is not exposed to other users.

Will the tutor just solve my problem set?

No, and that is deliberate. When a document is detected as homework or an exam, the tutor switches to guidance: it explains the method, points at the relevant definition and asks leading questions — but withholds the final answer.

What happens when I run out of my monthly quota?

The notebook carries on as normal — your writing, your PDFs and all your files stay available at all times. Only new AI actions wait for next month or an upgrade.

Does it work offline?

Writing does, fully — including PDF import and every page already on the device. AI actions need a connection, in the nature of things.

Why does every answer carry a citation?

Because a student cannot rely on an answer they are unable to verify. The citation is not decoration — it is how you check the system did not invent anything.

Can I cancel?

Yes, at any moment, straight from the subscription settings on your device. Access runs to the end of the period you paid for, and your files stay yours.
